Introduction to Nootropics

A lot of people either get confused or overwhelmed when it comes to nootropics. Most of the articles that you’ll read about nootropics will be filled with scientific jargon. I’ve put together this piece to be readable and more in layman terms for the average person.

What are NootropicsSo, What is a Nootropic?

Simply put, according to PubMed.gov, they are drugs which improve the functional of the central nervous system.

Nootropics are also referred to as smart drugs, cognitive enhancers, brain and memory supplements/enhancers. These smart drugs are legal and available “over the counter”.

When it comes to cognitive enhancers, I found that they are available in two ways; all natural or synthetic/chemical based.

Your all natural brain enhancers are products like Alpha Brain, and BrainStack. They are made from natural herbs, minerals, and vitamins. These include ingredients like Alpha GPC, Vitamin B6, Huperzi Serrata, Bacopa, AC-11, Vinocetine, Amino Acids ( L-Tyrosin and L-Theanine), and many others. If you are not sure exactly what all these are and what they all do, don’t sweat it. I will be researching each and every one of these herbs, and supplements and posting my findings.

When I talk about chemical based/synthesized smart drugs I am talking about things like; Piracetam, Nooept, and Racetams just to name a few. I will go more in depth with each of these as well in their own Knowledge Base article

All of these pills and supplements work in the same sort of they. They are meant to boost your brains neurotransmitters. When you do this it helps you with focus, memory, creativity, and mental drive.

As you can see it is easy to get overwhelmed with all the different kinds, types, and brands of Nootropics. This is where I come in I will review, test, and analyze these different types to see if they do in fact help.
